About the Job
The Shift Leader oversees the daily operation of the business in alignment with the vision and values of Chick-fil-A Jacksonville, TX. This position oversees shifts and manages team members to consistently provide remarkable experiences for each guest, all day, every day. This position focuses on effective leadership/management of the business which includes but it not limited to staff positioning, Food Safety, and cleanliness. This position collaborates closely with the Team Leaders/Directors to ensure operational goals are met and that our team members are equipped and coached to ensure success.

A Shift Leader will have additional responsibilities, such as Quality, Cleanliness, Inventory/forecasting, Donations/Waste and/or Training. (See additional responsibilities job description for area of specialty.):
  • Helps facilitate breaks, opening and closing tasks for team members.
  • Understands all handbook (employee meals, discounts, & giveaways, team member conduct), health department, and pathway (appearance, recipes) procedures.
  • Familiar with workplace safety and security procedures (robbery, harassment, violence, fire, extreme weather, etc).
  • Coach and train the team on the AHA system, packaging/boxing appearance, portion size/fileting, fifo rotation, and following numbers on the ipads (breading and the chutes).
  • Track daily on AHA and donations/waste and report to the group.
  • Prep and plan for caterings orders and ensure all catering is out on time.
  • Knows how to handle a call out and knows how to find shift coverage.
  • Monitor product quality to ensure the guests receive the best product through each transaction.
  • Hold the team accountable by using the coaching book when necessary.
  • Able to effectively run a back of house shift with a sense of urgency.
  • Work primary when both centerlines are open and ensuring the support is on secondary to watch the flow of food.
  • Work secondary when one centerline is open to watch the flow of food.
  • Knows how to operate the box compactor, do a boil out, operate machines, and can do deliveries.
  • Understands and can perform all team member positions for back of house as well as front of house.
  • Required to work four full shifts a week: Opening and/or Closing (at least one closing a week is expected).
  • Is assigned an additional responsibility such as cleanliness, training, quality, etc.
